Belarus and China Strengthen Cooperation in the Woodworking Industry

A meeting between representatives of China’s woodworking industry and the management of the Belarusian concern Bellesbumprom took place in Minsk.

Following the visit, Li Jiafeng, President of the China Timber & Wood Products Distribution Association, highly praised the output of Belarusian enterprises, noting that the quality of the products and the organization of production had exceeded the expectations of the Chinese side.

The delegation from China spent three days studying the operations of Belarusian forestry and woodworking companies.

The visitors were particularly impressed by the modern technologies in use, including waste-free production methods, as well as the preservation of long-standing traditions at enterprises with over a century of history.
One striking example was the Fandok plant in Babruysk, which has been operating for more than 100 years and symbolizes both continuity and innovative development.
According to Li Jiafeng, there are very few similar enterprises in China.

Alexander Pshenny, head of Bellesbumprom, emphasized that thanks to state support and large-scale modernization, many older facilities have effectively been transformed into entirely new production sites.
He pointed out that this has become a key factor in enhancing the competitiveness of Belarusian products in the global market.

As a result of the talks, both sides reaffirmed their interest in expanding cooperation.
In particular, they agreed to increase the volume of Belarusian exports to China.

To ensure systematic development of the partnership, a roadmap for 2025–2026 has already been signed, providing for the expansion of mutual deliveries and the creation of favorable conditions for bilateral projects.
